A manifesto for the raw space.

The world we know is only one story. Others are waiting to be heard.

We're taught to see the world in parts, subject split from object, self from other, human from nature. This story, modernity's grand narrative, is cracking under the weight of its own contradictions: ecological collapse, social fragmentation, a crisis of meaning.

Raw.Space rejects this inherited map. We believe the world doesn't exist "out there," separate from us. It is woven, continuously, in the .

When you walk through a forest, are you really separate from it? The trees change the air you breathe, your footsteps compress the soil, your presence shifts the bird songs. You and the forest are continuously remaking each other.

We are a space of spaces.

Raw.Space is a conceptual, digital, and physical playground for the , for the cracks and ruptures where alternative realities exist and new possibilities emerge. We are a container for the raw, the unformed, the emergent. A shell space affording exploration, inviting you to define its use.

Liminality feels like standing in a doorway. You're neither inside nor outside, but in the threshold space where transformation happens.

We believe in the power of the margins.

Innovation, resilience, and the seeds of a just future are not found by reinforcing dominant centres. They bloom at the , in the voices challenging the domineering way of being. We recognise these marginal spaces as essential terrains of emergence, as the places where transformation begins.

The grandmother teaching traditional medicine while hospitals fail her community. The artist creating an artefact from e-waste. The indigenous activist protecting water sources. These voices carry knowledge that dominant systems desperately need but consistently ignore.

We champion radical interdependence.

The myth of the is a dangerous fiction. Nothing exists in isolation. We are all participants, inextricably linked in a vast meshwork of being. Our survival (political, ecological, emotional) depends on restoring right relationship with each other, the more-than-human, and the planet itself.

The widespread belief that people are self-made and independent: the myth behind "pulling yourself up by your bootstraps." But ecologists, neuroscientists, and Indigenous knowledge keepers, all point to the same truth: we're interdependent.

We use art as a door, a bridge, a facilitator.

In a world saturated with didactic messages and inaccessible academic discourse, art offers a different way of knowing. It creates an emotional connection, prompts self-reflection, and can embed complex ideas in resonant forms. Raw.Space leverages the diverse languages of art (poetry, sculpture, video, code, sound, performance) to make the deep exploration of complex issues more inclusive and transformative.

We confront the polarisation paradox.

Efforts to challenge dominant systems often intensify the very divisions they seek to overcome. Raw.Space seeks to transcend these toxic loops. We embrace complexity, foster dialogue across differences, and cultivate .

Learning to navigate between different worlds, languages, and ways of knowing while maintaining ethical commitment. Like speaking multiple languages fluently, moving between academic, activist, and artistic spaces without losing your core values.

Our objective is to bring together:

To engage more people in co-creating valuable solutions to complex social issues.

This is a multi-layered, gradual approach.

We invite you in through passive reception, through the intuitive, the aesthetic. We then move, together, towards a more reflective, challenged, and active state of interpretation and agency. From "did you know?" to

You might first encounter a poem about climate grief that moves you emotionally. This opens space for learning about ecological interconnection. That knowledge becomes a question: "How do we live differently?" Finally: "What can I do in my community?" Art becomes a bridge from feeling to understanding to action.

Raw.Space is:

This is not a finished product. This is an ongoing exploration.
Not a declaration of answers, but a clearing for what might emerge.

This is a raw space.

Cultivate the questions. Inhabit the possibilities.
Weave your threads into this fabric.

This field began as a solitary gesture, a signal cast outward. It waits, becoming, unfolding. The field invites more hands.
